Date Nights + "Pizza Friends"

We have this get together we do practically 3 Friday's out of the month. Sometime early last year, we were invited to join a few families who get together every Friday to meet for pizza at a local pizzeria and then head over to one of the homes for adult conversation & libations while the kids run havoc around the house. The idea is for the adults to have fun & for the kiddos to have fun in a safe environment.

Now, a little more than a year and a half into it...we have grown to love these friends like family! What makes it even more special is that Joey is best friends with Tanner! They both look forward to seeing each other. The Mama's never tell them its Friday Pizza Night until the day of...or they'll just keep asking "Is it pizza friends today?" What started as a good idea for Joey to be in more 'social settings, one on one with a typical child to work on social relationships with a peer' became something more than we could've asked for. Joey was a different kiddo walking into this 'social setting'... Today, he seems to be just like any other kiddo! We get this compliment every now & then...and I count my blessings every time its said. Another great thing that has come out of these Friday pizza nights...are really good friendships! D + I have a couple of date nights every month and what we love most about these nights, too, is having friends join us!

Last night, we went to see the Sharks game! D + I love hockey!! D especially loves the San Jose Sharks team! We got some rockin' seats last night -- 2nd row behind the glass! They were awesome...and we were with an awesome couple! These are the 'founders' of Friday Pizza Nights -- Meet Bill + Kelley..."Salt of the Earth"...love these folks!
