Easter + Tahoe + iPod + "This Book"

Looking back at the previous posts, it seems like I'm averaging one post a month. Days have been such a blur lately...so much has gone on, so many days have passed...I just can't seem to catch up! Speaking of catching up...

We spent Easter at my in-law's in So.California. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this holiday! Grandma got to hide the eggs (for the first time), Joey really got the idea of looking for the eggs and well, my FIL made my favorite dessert, Tiramisu! Folks, it has been a couple of years since he's made it...I felt very special!

We also had a chance to take a small family vacation. It was the first for us! We typically have a grandparent with us but this time...it was just the three of us plus a dog! We caught the tail-end of the snow season...it was Joey's first time! We didn't really know how he would take to the snow ("sensory overload")...so we didn't plan anything. No slopes. No snow equipment. Just ourselves, a truck load of food and some cozy clothes and blankets.

He did great for the most part. He refused to wear gloves...he didn't like snow-boots SO I brought his wellies! The kid LOVES playing in rain puddles so I thought it was a great back-up plan. Mama took good notes! He wore them and out we went into the snow. We got out there right after breakfast; underneath our "outerwear" were our pajamas!

I posted this photo because I just love it! He has never been interested in earphones or the iPod...and one day, he saw that I uploaded an "Olivia" show onto it and he was in heaven.  I know Dave and Jenny would appreciate this..."he just seems typical" in this photo (or as Dave would say "atypically-typical") and really, this is why I love it so much. Everyday that passes, we see glimpses of all these "future" possibilities. It definitely gives us hope!

And this is what we've been working on. His teacher made a picture book for him (one for school and one for home). For the most part, he's doing awesome!! I'm not going to lie, it's taking a very long time but he's definitely getting it. Good times!

Love the pictures! Ryland's the same way about the snow. Loves it, minus the gear. hahaha... He's also that way about the iPod. I'll have to download Bob the Builder or something to see if that'll make him want to wear the ear buds. And you know me, I LOVE tiramisu, especially the homemade kind. Yum-Oh! Good luck with the potty-training.

Check out my last post to see how Ryland's doing with that. Not fun for mommy, that's for sure. Just a little bit of history... Ryland is constantly taking off his own diaper after he does #1 or #2. So, we're trying to get him to not do that and tell us BEFORE he does #1 or #2. Easier said than done...
